Tackle It Tuesday-Starting Seeds

My tackle was actually done on Saturday. I wanted everyone in the family to be involved and that was the day we were all here and it was a beautiful day outside! This is a project that we had been putting off. The project was starting our seeds. We are going to be doing container gardening so if our crop is late, I guess that's okay too. We used a Jiffy Greenhouse. This was $6.00 at Walmart and allowed for 72 plants. My kids had a great time and what made it even better was that last week and this one my twins theme at head start was gardens. We even took them on a trip to Walmart to look at all of the plants and gardening stuff and buy the stuff for this tackle. My kids had a great evening and I have my containers ready to transplant when they are ready. Here are some pictures from our tackle.

Tackle It Tuesday, a little late!

Yesterday was the twins transition day at Head Start, so I was really busy and I forgot to post this last night. Sorry, for the delay! I have decided while the twins are in Head Start which starts Thursday, I am going to work on some projects. I started this week by cleaning an area in my kitchen. My kitchen has NO storage. I mean it. So, I have to make the most of what I can. This is a shelf I bought and I also store some things on top of my deep freezer. The deep freezer was given to me and I LOVE having it! It was used out side and has a lot of rust looking spots on the outside, so I don't care to use it for storage on top, it covers up the bad looking parts! :) But, I have to get inside and when it gets like this, it is frustrating. The area seems to be a catch all because of the lack of storage so I have to keep on top of it and not let it get like this! Now it just looks so much better. Makes me feel better when I walk in the kitchen too! :) So, I'll see you next week for another Tackle It Tuesday project!

Tackle It Tuesday

An individual Bag

The closet it is all stored in.

Well, Neil my 9 month old, has just started growing out of his 3-6 month clothes. He also has grown out of his shoes. I kept things from my other two boys, but they were all in Rubbermaid tubs and garbage bags, in no order, in a closet. I really did not want to tackle it, but I knew there had to be some stuff in there that would work and I could save some money. It took me all day, but I finished it and found a few treasures too. I found a basket full of 6-9 month clothes for Neil to use. Many of these I did not even get out for my second son, so many are like new. I also found a few things for Nathan; some belts, a robe, shoes for my 9 month old, and some pajamas. And now I have a system that I will not overlook clothes needing to be worn. I used the Extra Large Hefty One Zip bags to put things in and I labeled each one by sizes. Now, I can just pull one bag out to get all of the clothes I need and put them back if needed or get rid of if I do not need that size anymore. This is so much easier than the Rubbermaid containers that I was using and everything fits into one closet. I did not take a before picture of my Rubbermaid containers and garbage bags, but believe me it is so much better and never again will I forget to use the clothes I have stored.

Tackle it Tuesday

Today I am tackling a project that I just do not want to do but that has to be done. With summer here, I am going to help my ds organize his bedroom. It is really a wreck in there. I personally just let it go and then when it is really bad I go work on it. Making it so much harder for me! Well, we are going to tackle it today. I will not be sharing any pictures, because really I would be ashamed! I organized before Christmas and we got rid of a LOT of stuff, so I thought it would be easier for him to keep clean, but really he just does not care and I can not figure out a way to get him to do anything around the house (he is 7). Even if it is just to pick up after himself! So, we are going to tackle it and then we are starting this summer that he will have a time that he picks up his room everyday so he will get in the habit! I am also going to have the twins pick-up their room at the same time. Anybody got any get ideas on how to get a 7 year old to learn responsibility and to help around the house and at least pick up his own things? I would love to know! Thanks.
