Bachelor Girl is the final book in the Roger Lea MacBride series The Rose Years. This series continues in telling the story of Laura Ingalls Wilders daughter Rose. This book shows how much Rose grows up as she finally leaves home for the big city of San Francisco where she becomes a telegrapher. She has a rough time starting out, but finally makes it on her own. I really enjoyed this book as all of them in the series. I never read them when I was young so I read them when I was old lol. I really enjoyed them. Any Laura Ingalls Wider fan would love them!

Pizza Pancakes
We had these yesterday for lunch. Dh was home because the person he goes out with in the field was sick yesterday. We really can't afford many more days like that, but it was fun having him home. Anyways, these were first on Laura's blog, I think. I have been seeing them all over. My kids loved these and I have a very picky 7 year old! We will be making them again! They are so easy to make and I think you could add anything that you add to a pizza. I think next time we are going to try sausage. Also, I left out the green peppers in my kids pancakes, so you can leave stuff out too. A big thumbs up from me! Enjoy!~
Pizza Pancakes(from Quick Cooking)
~
2 cups biscuit/baking mix
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup chopped pepperoni
1/2 cup chopped plum tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce, warmed
~
In a large bowl, combine the biscuit mix and Italian seasoning. Combine eggs and milk; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in the cheese, pepperoni, tomatoes and green pepper. Pour batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto a lightly greased hot griddle. Turn when bubbles form on top; cook until the seconds side is golden brown. Serve with pizza sauce. Yield: 14 pancakes.

MJ's Shrimp Fried Rice
We had this for dinner. I have been wanting to try it for a while. It is really good! We will be having it again in this house this week because we have leftover veggies. We used all of the veggies except celery because nobody likes it here except me. I think we are going to try it with different meats. Enjoy!
MJ’s Shrimp Fried Rice (from Renee)

Recipe Reviews

I tried a lot of new recipes this week. Mainly because dh asked me to make a hot breakfast everyday during his final week and I got a lot of great recipes from the Favorite Ingredient Friday Breakfast Edition. So, here are my reviews and here is a definition of my rating system:
~
Overnight Maple French Toast- I was really excited about this recipe. It sounded sooo good! I liked the fact that it was pretty much ready in the morning and all you had to do was put it in the oven. The bottom layer had maple syrup and a brown sugar mixture. This made this meal way too rich for me! It actually made my stomach hurt because it was so rich. It did however have a wonderful flavor. I would probably cook it a little longer and only put the syrup on the bottom and not mix it with the brown sugar. I would change it a little but definitely try again!
Rating-3 stitches
~
Sausage Breakfast Casserole- My family loved this! It actually taste like sausage and biscuits! Will definitely try again!
Rating-5 Stitches
~
Baked French Toast- This recipe was very similar to the Overnight Maple French Toast. It suggest substituting the first few ingredients for syrup only and I definitely recommend that. The butter that was added to the top made the toast a bit more runny and I did not like that at all. I would probably use the other recipe and just use the syrup. It did have a good flavor.
Rating 3- stitches
~
Corn dog Muffins- This was a really neat recipe. I liked mine with mustard. My kids loved them. I would definitely make them again.
Rating-5 stitches
~
Easy Oven Enchiladas - This recipe was super easy and used a Hamburger Helper meal to make things easy. I used a different brand of salsa. this was a really good dinner and we even had left overs. Would definitely make again!
Rating-5 stitches
~
Easy Taco Pie - This recipe was also super easy. The meat sauce had a really good flavor. My kids loved this meal! We will definitely try again!
Rating-5 stitches.
~
Olive Garden Pasta Alfredo- I love the Olive Garden's Alfredo so I wanted to try this recipe. It was good, but did not taste a lot like the Olive Garden's to me, but I would try again.
Rating-4 stitches.
