Daily ToDo

I am so tired today! We did a lot this weekend. I have so much to do today too! Neil has got a bad cold and he stayed up most nights this weekend. He cried a lot at nights making sleeping hard since he sleeps in our room! He ate this morning and went right back to sleep. Wish I could stay in there with him, but the twins are up. We did a lot of shopping this weekend. We got new clothes for all the kids and DH. They were all in need of new shoes, socks, and some warmer clothes. The weather here has gotten so cold at night and early in the morning. I like the cooler weather! It is just hard to dress for 50 degree weather and 80 degree weather at the same time. We also got 2 new chairs for our table so now we can put the boosters up for Nathan and Katie Sue, they love it. We also got Neil a new high chair. So, now we have seating for everyone. The twins had the $20 high chairs and they are really warn out, so we had to buy a new one for Neil. So, today I need to reorganize the dining room to fit all of that in there. We cleaned the carpets this weekend and they are so much better! It will be nice to get things straightened up. We only have one more big purchase a bed for Neil. I have picked it out but we have to wait to get something to haul it in. ( our cars are too small)

Lorie's To-Do

Well it is Monday again. It has been a while since I have written a Lorie's To-Do. I have been so busy all summer that I have not really made time for it. I pretty much do not watch anything at all on tv anymore. The kids watch some shows, but as for me I really do not have any "favorite" shows that come on right now. The library summer program ended last week, so I am back to having to make my own lunches, again. We have one more day, Wednesday, which is the awards day and all of my kids will be getting t shirts. I can't believe that school will be starting back in 3 weeks!! The summer just flew by! If you have not had a chance, check out my Pay it forward Book Exchange. I am giving away a great book that was given to me by the author, Angela Hunt. Hope everyone has a great day! I am getting my house back in order now that I am staying here most days now!

I need a vacation!

So, what is every one's plans for the holiday? We are staying at home and making cookies that we did not get done last night. Then we will watch a movie or something, maybe go swimming, and then we will go out and watch some fireworks. I will probably cook a nice dinner and we will just try to relax! I am really looking forward to the relax part, but with 4 kids, sometimes that is hard. I told my mil the other day after she told me about her vacation, that I needed a vacation from my kids. Well, I just got this big lecture on how when you have kids you really never get a vacation until they leave home. Don't get me wrong I love my kids and we don't even have the money to go on a vacation WITH the kids, but sometimes I just need a break! You know? I have not even told you all everything I go through. Imagine one two year old and times that by 2 and add a still almost newborn and a 7 year old who refuses to help do anything, even take care of himself and you might get a picture of my day! The latest incident that happened was my two year olds were in the kitchen, not for long, I was changing Neil's diaper, and when I came back they had found the Comet and it was all over my kitchen floor and all over them. Their hair was white. It took me forever to clean up that mess! Can you say at least three moppings and a bath! Well, something like that happens everyday to me! I just want a small break. My mil has not been able to babysit like she used to for us because she has been working on Saturdays, so even to get out for a small time with my dh has not even been happening. So, if I want to say I need a break from my kids, not to my kids I might add, I think I should be allowed. Maybe some magic fairy will come and give me that wish, but I am not holding my breath and even though I say that, I probably would be going crazy after one day apart from them! I love them so much and have spent very little time away from them, like when I was in the hospital with Neil, was the first night I spent away from the twins. Anyways, off of that subject. I hope all of you are planning a fun-filled relaxing day tomorrow. Too bad it does not fall on a weekend! What are your plans for tomorrow?

Daily Happenings

I feel a whole lot better that today is over. I do not have to go anywhere until Saturday so I feel a little more relaxed. We went to the library again today. I can not believe that there is only 2 more weeks left for the Summer Reading Program. It has been so nice and I have not had to cook lunch any of those days. Neil won the gift card today. I will probably just buy some diapers with his card. It has been nice that all of my children now have won a $25 gift card. Today was movie day. We watched Finding Nemo. It has really surprised me, but my kids have figured out how to behave at the library. Nathan and Katie Sue both were actually watching the movie today, sat down to eat, etc. They have also been able to actually "sit" through story time hour now instead of getting up and moving around. I think that this program has been especially good for them. Neil actually took a nap and since the other kids were watching the movie, I actually got to read my book. It was so much easier than that first time I went to movie day. So, how was everyone else's day?

Lorie's To-Do

Good Morning. why am I up at 5 am? I really do not know. I went to bed at midnight and today is going to be a hard day, as usual lately. Anyways, yesterday, I got up and started cooking breakfast and the twins were not up yet. So, I continued cooking until I heard some crying. I was in the middle of something and did not go right away. (It is usually just them fighting and they get over it quick. ) I shut there door at night. Anyways, I go in there (and really it had not been that long) and Katie Sue is standing by the closet door and I do not see Nathan. Then I hear him saying "elp", "elp" and then crying. Katie Sue was trying to tell me and figure out a way to get him out. I guess she had shut him in there and did not know that she would not be able to get him out. lol. He was fine only a little scared. Most of the time I am thankful that they have not learned how to open doors, but this is one time I wish they knew how. Another funny story from yesterday was that while I took a shower, the twins helped themselves to the refrigerator. Ds was suppose to be watching them but he was busy playing a computer game. I really take quick showers too. Anyways, they were sitting on the floor with my new package of strawberries. :( They ate the whole container and Katie Sue was saying, "good, mom good." I had to smile and they did not eat the green tops, thankfully. Then my smile went to a frown because I noticed something else my empty juice pitcher. Yes, they poured my juice out in the refrigerator mostly. I hate cleaning up juice messes, sticky! Anyone got any great ideas to keeping toddlers out of the refrigerator? Anyways, I posted my summer reading list. I really do not know if I will get through it all this summer but it is my plan. Reading is one thing I make time for. This baby sleeps really well, so I have some time at night to read. I do not remember getting back into reading this quick after having the twins, but really with 4 kids it is my stress reliever! I also posted some new pics of Neil if you have not seen them yet. And you can play Simon online post.
Well, I am taking my kids to the library today. They love it, but it is really hard on me. I think everyone at the library feels for me! I do not remember if I told you but all of the kids that go to the library programs each day get a chance to win a $25 gift card for Walmart. Nicholas won last week. He bought a pool and swimming trunks with his. Katie Sue got one yesterday. I think we are going to use hers for a new pair of shoes. We also get free lunches and great activities every time we go, so I will continue to take them. It ends the middle of July so we will get to stay home some this summer. I am just glad that I have a car to take them this year. Last year we did not go much because we only had one car. Dinner last night did not turn out well. I made the Lemon Garlic Chicken. I add 1/2 cup of lemon juice like the recipe said but I added concentrated lemon jiuce and I substituted the white wine with Sierra Mist. Oh man was it so lemony it was gross. Dh ate it all he said it was not that great but he was hungry. So, I guess I will not be making it again. I thought it would be so good, but I think I messed up this one! Well, I hope you all have a great day! P.S. I am glad I got up early or you would not have gotten this post. :)

What I got to do:

  • Laundry
  • Dishes/kitchen clean-up
  • Living room pick up

  • Dh wants to cook tonight so he is messing up my plan, but oh well he is cooking, right? Here is his plan: MJ's Shrimp Fried Rice (only he adds chicken instead of shrimp) and Sesame Chicken Dh loves the first recipe, it is his new favorite! The second one is new so we will see how it turns out.

Lorie's To-Do

Hi, hope everyone had a good week. I sure had a busy one. I have already posted several post today, so make sure you scroll down. I have got so much to do today, I did not get much done on my list yesterday because I just felt really bad. I still do not feel much better today, but I got some stuff to get done. Last, night I tried a new recipe that was a big hit with my family! We will definitely be making it again! I'll share it with you at the end of this post.

Things I need to do:

  • Laundry bedding, whites, towels, 2 loads clothes
  • Dishes/Kitchen Clean-up
  • Living room pick-up
  • Organize kids books on the bookshelf

What we are eating:

  • Breakfast- Cereal
  • Lunch-Soup and Sandwiches
  • Dinner- Pizza

What I am reading:

Here is the recipe I tried last night:
~
Swiss Chicken Bake(from An ordinary Mom)
3 or 4 large frozen chicken breasts (I prefer using 12-15 thawed chicken tenders so I can cut them up in smaller pieces)
2 cans cream of chicken soup (I use the low fat version)
1/2 can water
12 oz. stuffing box (I prefer Stove Top)
3 tablespoons butter (I just use some “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter” spray and add 1/3 cup of water)
1 1/2 cups Swiss cheese
Place the uncooked chicken in a sprayed 9*13 casserole dish. Sprinkle the Swiss cheese over the chicken. Mix the 2 cans of cream of chicken soup with 1/2 can of water. Pour soup mixture over chicken and cheese. Melt butter. In a large bowl, mix together the stuffing and butter. (If you are using butter spray, add 1/3 cup of water to this mixture.) Spread stuffing mixture over the top of the chicken and the soup. Cover and bake at 350 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Uncover and bake for 15 minutes more. (If your chicken is already thawed, you can cook it for 45 minutes to 1 hour and then uncover it for 15 more minutes.)

Here is a picture of the casserole and one as the meal. Personally, i thought I would not like the Swiss cheese, but it tasted so good on the chicken. Wonderful meal is all I have to say and we will be having it again!

Hope you have a great day and weekend!

Lorie's To-Do

Well, I have become one busy mom! Not that I was not before, but with summer already here for my family I am BUSY! Here is what our weekly plan looks like.
~
Monday: Story Hour (library)
Tuesday: Cooking Hour(library)
Wednesday: Movie Day(We stay from 12-2:30)
Thursday-Outside Time at home
Friday- We do something special like the park.
So, as you can see I have a pretty busy schedule, but I would rather be busy. I was so tired after yesterday's movie day at the library. The first one is from 12-1:00 and this is for the younger kids. The second one is from 1:00-2:30 for older kids and since I have kids in both age groups we just stay for both. Try keeping toddlers happy for that long, can you say hard! They showed a Little Bear video first and the twins liked that and ate their lunch while they watched it. The second show was Over the Hedge and they liked that too. They walked around a lot, but were not loud. Nathan thew up on me. He chocked on a gummy. I get so embarrased when my kids throw up in public and as a mother of 4 it has happened many times. Anyways, this morning I woke up with my stomach hurting. I am feeling a lot better now at almost 11 am. I kept some breakfast down anyways. I got to go get a few things done and then we are going to go play outside, eat lunch, and take a nap. I better go got lots to do!
~
What I need to do:

  • Dishes/Kitchen pick-up
  • Mop kitchen floor-done!
  • Pick-up living room
  • Laundry: bedding-done, whites, 2 loads clothes, 1 load of towels

What I we are eating:

I am taking my kids to the library program everyday but Friday and it leaves me a little less time to do the things I want to do. We had a great time last night as a family. We played a few games with Nicholas only. We played this new game called Hit the Deck. It is a lot like Uno, but I like it better. We had lots of fun! The library summer reading program started this week. I love it! They feed the kids and give them something fun to do! Today they made the ice cream in a ziplock bag. I have shared that on here before. Well, here are my plans for the day.

Lorie[s To-Do

(I have posted several post already so scroll down)
Good Morning to everyone! Not much going on today. My twins were into everything yesterday! 2 year olds can be such curious creatures. I felt like I was cleaning up messes every hour. It started with the salt and pepper shakers and ended with my perfume just to give you an idea what all they got into yesterday. Katie Sue has found a new hiding place, under the kitchen table. Whenever she is under there, I know she has done something wrong! She even goes under there when she has pooped in her diaper. So, anyways, they kept me on my toes yesterday. I got through the 4th DVD of the Lost season 1 series. It has been really good! I am going to start DVD 5 today. I have to get through all 7 DVD's before Saturday, when I have to return it to the library. I looked online and found season 2, but it cost like $60 so I am definitely going to have to see if the library will order it. Hope everyone has a great day!
~
What I am doing:
  • Laundry
  • Dishes/Kitchen Clean-up
  • Living room pick-up
  • Usual stuff for me today
  • T-ball game 6 pm (It is the last one!)

Lorie's To-Do

(I have posted some things already today so make sure you scroll down)
Happy Wednesday to everyone. I am getting a late start today. I feel sick to my stomach. I felt bad all night. I am starting to feel a little better though. Last night I watched the final episode of House. I just started watching this show because it came on after American Idol and i instantly loved it. I was really disappointed with last night's show! It was suppose to be so good. Personally, I think some of the other episodes from this season were better. And, to have Foreman leaving, Chase getting fired, and the other girl resigning, I just do not know what House is going to do next season. I was in shock at the end of the show. Well, one good thing is that the season will be shown again this summer, maybe I will get to watch some I missed. Anyways, I am addicted to something else. I checked out Season 1 of the series Lost. I watch 1 1/2 of the disk yesterday. It is so good, why did I miss it when it came on television? It is good, but there are 7 DVDs in the series and I have to turn it back in on Saturday so I hope I get finished. one bad thing they do not have Season 2. I am going to ask them for it. You all do not know how much money I have saved on entertainment this spring since I found movies at the library. Well, hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

What I am doing:

  • Laundry

  • Dishes

  • Living room pick-up

  • clean my bath tub

What we are eating:

  • Lunch: Sandwiches, fruit, milk

  • Dinner:Alice Springs Chicken, green beans, baked potatoes
