Menu Plan Monday-March 10-16

My Weight Watcher Meal Plan for the week:

Monday- Roasted Turkey, 3 points; 1/2 cup mashed potatoes, 2 points, green beans, 0 points

Tuesday-Soft Tacos, 1/2 cup Mexican rice, 3 points

Wednesday- Deep Dish Pizza Casserole, 6 points; salad w/lite dressing, 2 points

Thursday-Sweet and Sour Chicken (see recipe below), 3 points; 1/2 cup white rice, 2 points; 1 cup peas, 1 point

Friday-Mom's Cheese Pizza, 2 slices at 4 points each; salad w/lite dressing, 2 points

Saturday-Sesame Chicken, 5 points; 1/2 cup white rice; 1 cup peas, 1 point

Sunday-1 cup Chunky Tomato Soup/Spaghetti Sauce with thin spaghetti, 6 points; 2 pieces multi gran Sara Lee bread sprayed with butter spray and garlic powder, 1 point; salad with lite dressing, 2 points

Sweet and Sour Chicken

1 (8 ounce) can pineapple tidbits with juice

1 1/2 pounds chicken tenders, cut into 1-inch pieces

Cooking Spray

2 cups frozen bell pepper and onion stir fry mix

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

1 tablespoon vinegar

1.Drain pineapple, reserving juice. Set aside.

2. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium high heat. Coat pan and chicken with cooking spray. Add chicken to pan, and cook 5 minutes or until browned. Rinse stir fry mix with hot water and drain; add to pan and cook 2 minutes.

3. When chicken is almost done, combine cornstarch, next 3 ingredients, and reserved pineapple juice; stir with a whisk. Pour juice mixture into pan; stir in pineapple. Bring mixture to a boil. and cook 3 minutes or until sauce is thickened and chicken is done.

Yields: 5- 1 cup servings at 3 WW points per serving

Calories per serving- 174, fat per serving- 0.6 grams, Fiber per serving- 0.8 grams.

End of Summer Party 2007 and a Giveaway!

Trista at The Pumkin Patch is having an End of Summer Party August 20-24th. She is asking everyone to write about their summer and some are even giving away prizes at this party. So for this party I have made a list of 10 things that we enjoyed and had fun doing this summer. Oh and when you get to the end of this post I'll tell you about my end of summer contest. ~

1. We took the kids to the park a lot!(When it was not so hot!)

2. We enjoyed the library summer reading program!(Story hour, cooking, movies)

3. We went and played at the Burger King play land twice. (Katie Sue and Nathan learned to climb to the top!

4. I got to read a lot of really good books and discovered some new authors! I also read ALOT to my kids this summer.

5. We made homemade Popsicles.

6. Mommy, Daddy, and Nicholas got addicted to a card game called Hit the Deck! We played it every night for a while.
7. We got to enjoy having a new baby in the house!

8. We got to go swimming in our swimming pool.

9. We had family baking nights and made lots of different cookies.

10. Nicholas got to play t-ball for his first year.

Financially this summer was not too good for us. I thought what did we get to do for fun? We did not go anywhere. We did mostly free, fun stuff, but as I thought about it for a while, I came up with several things that we had lots of fun doing. This was lots of fun! I think I am going to make it a yearly thing!

5 question meme

Marcia has tagged me for the 5 question meme. After I answer her 5 questions, I tag some people and ask them 5 new questions and then they answer my questions and ask 5 different questions. Okay if that made since, here we go.

1. What do you do if someone pushes into a queue in front of you?
I do not know if I understand this question, but if a queue is a line, then I would get upset and probably say something to the person.
~
2. If you had 6 months to live, what would you most regret not doing?
This is hard. I feel like I have accomplished a lot of things in my life, but I would have to say I would regret not getting to see my kids grow up and a chance to experience grandchildren!
~
3. What is your favourite hot drink and why?
I really do not drink a lot of "hot" drinks, but on a really cold day, I LOVE a cup of hot chocolate. It makes me feel so good inside, that is the only way I can explain it.
~
4. What do you do if you already have a plan and you then get invited to a "better" event?
I got to the better plan and ditch the old plan! Unless the first one was really important and I had to go, then I would keep my first plan.
~
5. What do you most value? What is most important to you? You're not allowed to say God or any other people!
I guess if I can't say God, then I would have to say "family", technically that is a person or people, but my family comes first in my life and I put a lot of value in raising my family and teaching my children!

Personal "Quirky" Policies Meme

Personal "quirky" Policies Meme....
I have been tagged for this meme by Monkey Kisses to list some personal policies... Hmmm,I'm thinking...

1. All of my sippy cups and bottle parts must match. I drive my dh crazy with this one!
2. I must take a shower every morning or I just do not feel right the rest of the day. (I remember when I was late in high school, I called my mom and made her come back to school and pick me up just so I could take a shower.
3. I love pens! I collect them, guess that comes from being a teacher?
4. I LOVE to-do list! I live by them sometimes.
5. I love hand sanitizer. I use it all the time. I have some on my keychain!
6. When shopping at Walmart I always park on the non-food side?
7. I love eating dinner "family style" (You know where you have serving dishes, etc.) My dh says it just makes more work, but I love it.
8. I always park my car in the same place in my driveway.
9. My toliet paper must go on the same way everytime. The paper comes off over.
