Tasty Thursday is all about pasta today! Here is a recent recipe I tried!
~
Baked Ziti with Beef (6.5 points)(From Cooking Light) (and Nancy)
~
4 cups Tomato Sauce
1 pound ground round
4 cups cooked ziti or rigatoni (about 2 1/2 cups uncooked pasta)
1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese, divided
Cooking spray
1/4 cup (1 ounce) grated fresh Parmesan cheese

Cooking spray
1/4 cup (1 ounce) grated fresh Parmesan cheese
~
Preheat oven to 350°. Cook beef in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until browned; stir to crumble. Drain well. Combine beef, rigatoni, Tomato Sauce, and 1 cup mozzarella in an 11 x 7-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Top with 1/2 cup mozzarella and Parmesan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
Serving Size = 1 cup
Original recipe called for Rigatoni, but all I had was Ziti, this was really good! We will have it again. I served it with a tossed salad.

Yummy!! We love baked ziti!! Have a great Thursday!
Yum,that looks delish! I will have to try it.
I used to make something like that. there was a Prego sauce that you poured over uncooked pasta, added water and baked in the oven for 30 minutes. Then after you take it out of the oven you covered it with mozzerella and parmesean.I used to make that 2 or 3 times a week,I loved it.
Baked Ziti is something I've never made. Maybe with a good recipe I should try it! :D
Wonderful recipe! Thanks for sharing.

MMMM that sounds really yummy... It looked like the ziti was sitting on a bed of pearls.. LOL.. but then i saw it was a clear dish.
I loved baked ziti too. I am not a red meat eater though. I guess you could make it without the meat?
