Works For Me Wednesday

Today is backwards day on Works For Me Wednesday. Instead of sharing an idea, you ask a question that you need help with. I want to know about making money on blogs. If you do this what do you do, advertise, write advertisements, etc? How much money do you put into it. Did you have to have a special blog or does a regular blogger blog work. Just give me any other tips you have on making money from your blog. Thanks~
For more great WFMW post see Shannon at Rocks in my Dryer. Maybe you can help someone out with a question that they have.

Hi Lori! One thing you might think about is adding Google Adsense to your blog. You can find it under your layout choices in Blogger. It's really simple and can definitely help. Also, there are numerous affiliate programs (Linkshare, Commission Junction) you can join to display ads on your blog in the hopes someone will purchase from them through you. Hope those help!

You might consider PayPerPost. Your blog has to be at least 3 months old which yours is. Once you've signed up and are approved, you can earn $20 for your first post. I make money with them and just pick and choose the things I want to write about. Somethings don't work for me (casinos, etc.) but some do (like writing about baby slings).

Adsense is easy to set up, but you probably won't make much from them. I've used Pay Per Post (they paid as promised with no problems) and am also trying Review Me (one approved post but can't yet confirm that they pay on time.) You don't need to pay anyone for income opportunities on your blog. You can also put your own ad above your profile offering to post reviews for products or companies in exchange for free products or money. I did have Amazon Affiliate for a while but earned zero dollars from that. Pay Per Post also has a thing called Get Paid to Review My Post--you can put the button at the end of each post or find other bloggers who use the button and review their posts--I think you get $7.50 per post either way.

I work with PayPerPost and PayU2Blog, both of which make me money. PU2B, I make a minimum of $50/month. With them, they give you certain posts to write about and you only have to write 60 words. With PPP, I was making around $200/month until I got my own domain name and now I'm making less than a $100. PPP takes into account many things, the better of those things you have, the better the posts (and more money) you're eligible for. The only problem I have with PPP, is that there are so many members that it's been harder to get the opps. That's why I've enjoyed PU2B, because I don't have to fight for anything, they send me what they can.

I hope that all makes sense. If not, just email or IM me and I can try to answer more of your questions. :)

The only things I have tried are Amazon Associates (which I have never made a red cent from) and Smorty. I HATED Smorty and I would never recommend it to anyone else. I just didn't feel it was a moral company and it seemed too sneaky of a thing to do to readers.

Hi Lorie

how are you doing?

I was going to say Google Adsense is a waste of time. I had it on the organising blog for 2 months and didn't even make $5.

I heard good things about ppp too...
