Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies(from The Southern Living Cookbook)

3/4 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (12 ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels (I have used white chocolate chips, Milk chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, butterscotch chips, and M&M's or a combination of several)

Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well. Combine flour, soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in chocolate morsels. (or whatever chips you want to use) Drop dough by heaping teaspoons (I use an old measuring cup that was in a set used to measure coffee and it makes them all the perfect size.) onto ungreased cookie sheets(I use a stone and like the results better). Bake at 375 degrees for 9-11 minutes. Cool slightly on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Yield: about 6 1/2 dozen

Mmmmmm, now I want cookies and a HUGE glass of milk!!
I like to try different cookie recipes, but after awhile I just crave a delicious chocolate chip cookie. Your right, everyone has thier own taste. My son likes his chocolate chip cookies burnt.
