Recipe Question?

So, I got this recipe that sounds so good and I really want to try that Annie posted on slow Cooker Thursday. Here it is:

Crock Pot Lemon Garlic Chicken
frozen skinless chicken breasts or tenders (about 2 pounds)
1/2 cup Lemon juice
several crushed garlic cloves (10-12)
1 teaspoon Seasoned salt
1 teaspoon Poultry seasoning
2 dashes Tabasco
1 cup White wine
Skin and cut up chicken. Combine with other ingredients in slow cooker/Crock Pot. Set on low. Serve over rice.

So, here is my question, if I did not want to add the White wine should I try to substitute something for it? or would it be okay without it? I know Sandra and Annie have tried this recipe, I hope someone can answer my question. Thanks in advance.

Update: I read a few things and some substitutions include chicken broth, ginger ale, white grape juice, apple juice, apple cider, or water. You all who have had it what do you think would be best for this recipe? I know they make alcohol free white wine, but I want something a little cheaper?

I think I used sprite instead or fresca. I always add one of those in place of beer in crock pot recipes too.

You'll have to let us know how it turns out . . . sounds good to me! :)

You can use an equal amount of water, chicken broth, vegetable broth, white grape juice, ginger ale, or white grape juice, and it should turn out just fine! :)

I got the info from this page of substitutes here:

I've heard of people substituting apple juice for the white wine. I haven't actually tried it though. Let us know how it goes!
